An outline-only heart has one structural weak point: the bottom V where the two heart-lobes meet at the heart's vertex. Outline-only construction means there is no solid heart-face to brace against, so the wire at the bottom V flexes more than the wire elsewhere on the silhouette. Our solution: a 1.2mm gauge wire (proportionally heavier than the typical 0.8mm fashion-jewelry wire) reinforced with an additional 0.3mm metal thickening at exactly the bottom V vertex, which is the spot most likely to deform if the earring is bumped. The wire ends are welded at the top-center where the two heart-lobes meet, then the entire piece is polished and triple-layer gold-plated.
